‘Street portrait’ is a photographic genre of its own kind, showing spontaneous encounters with strangers on the street. Even more than in classic street photography, individual characters are in focus – but opposed to staged portraits nothing is planned and the photographer has to be spontaneous, also in approaching people and quick to make a decent picture. I love street portraits because its ability to show people in a very authentic, real way.
